10 questionsMovie quizzes across Hollywood, Bollywood and the franchises people actually argue about
A film quiz lives or dies on whether the questions are about films people have seen. That sounds obvious, and it is the reason most of them fail — a round built around critically admired cinema tests whether you read about films, not whether you watch them.
These rounds are built the other way round, from what has actually been widely watched. The blockbuster quizzes cover the films that filled cinemas, the franchise rounds cover the series people are genuinely invested in, and the Bollywood quiz covers an industry that produces more films a year than Hollywood and is routinely left out of English-language trivia entirely.
Questions test recall of the films themselves — plot, casting, the moments people quote — rather than production trivia or box-office figures, which are facts about an industry rather than about a film. The exception is where a production fact has become part of the film's reputation.
Difficulty is split into easy and medium rounds. Easy covers things you would know from having seen the film once; medium expects you to remember details that passed most viewers by. Each session draws a fresh random set, so a second play is a different quiz.
Questions
Do these include Bollywood films?
Yes, there is a dedicated Bollywood round covering classics and modern hits, separate from the Hollywood blockbuster quizzes.
Are there quizzes on specific franchises?
Yes — Harry Potter, Marvel and Disney each have their own round, and there is a Friends quiz for the sitcom. Franchise rounds go deeper than the general movie quizzes.
Do I need to have seen recent releases?
No. The questions lean on films that have had time to be widely watched rather than on current releases, so nothing depends on having been to the cinema this month.
What is the difference between the easy and medium rounds?
Easy questions are answerable from having seen a film once. Medium questions ask about details — a supporting character, a specific line, a plot point people misremember.
