Privacy Policy

1. The short version

QTNest has no accounts, no logins, and no database of users. Every calculator, game and quiz runs entirely in your browser — whatever you type into a tool stays on your device and is never sent to us. What we do collect is anonymised traffic measurement, described in full below, and if advertising is enabled in future, the advertising providers named in section 4 will set cookies.

2. What we collect, and what we don’t

We do not ask for or store your name, email address, or any other personal detail, because there is nothing on this site to sign up for. We do not sell data, and we have no data about you to sell.

Tool and game input — the figures in a calculator, the letters you guess, the answers you pick in a quiz — is processed in your browser and never transmitted to us. Some tools remember a preference (such as metric or imperial) in your browser’s local storage. That stays on your device and we cannot read it.

3. Analytics and cookies

We use four measurement services. All of them record how pages are used, not who is using them.

• Google Analytics — pages visited, approximate location, device and browser type, and session length. It sets cookies. You can opt out site-wide with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, and Google explains its own handling in How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
• Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights — page views and page-loading performance, provided by our hosting company. Both are cookieless and do not track visitors between sites.
• AlertKite — a lightweight page-view counter, also cookieless.

Aside from Google Analytics, and any advertising cookies described in section 4, this site sets no cookies of its own.

4. Advertising

QTNest is free to use and is intended to be supported by advertising. When advertising is served on this site, the following applies:

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or to other websites.
• Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
• You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, or opt out of a wider set of third-party vendors at aboutads.info.
• For visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, consent will be requested through a certified consent management platform before any advertising or personalisation cookie is set, and can be declined or changed at any time.

For transparency: at the time of writing no advertising is being served on QTNest and no ad network is collecting data here. This section is published in advance so that what would happen is documented before it happens rather than after.

5. Where your data goes

The site is hosted by Vercel and served from their global network, so a request may be handled outside your own country. The providers named above process the data they collect on their own infrastructure under their own privacy policies. We hold no server-side store of visitor data ourselves, so there is no QTNest database that could be breached or requested.

6. Children

Parts of this site — the games and puzzles in particular — are written with classrooms and younger players in mind. Nothing here asks a child for a name, an email address, or any other personal detail, and no account can be created. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data held about you, and to object to its processing. Because we hold no personal data, such a request is best directed at the providers in section 3 — but if you contact us we will help where we can. If you are in the UK or EEA you also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.

8. Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected about you — a new provider, or advertising going live — we will update the date at the top of this page.
