Christmas Word Scramble — Festive Words, Shuffled
A word scramble is the gentlest of the word puzzles: nothing is hidden and nothing is missing. Every letter of the answer is sitting in front of you, and the whole puzzle is working out what order they belong in. That makes it the one word game that works across a wide age range at the same table, which is why it turns up on so many Christmas activity sheets.
This version runs on a bank of festive words — decorations, food, carols, weather, the things in the room on the day. Every one comes with a one-line clue shown from the moment the round starts. The clue is what keeps a scramble from becoming a brute-force letter shuffle, and it is what lets a younger player stay in the same round as an adult.
Tap the shuffled letter tiles in order to build your answer. Letters snap into the blanks as you go, and a letter that lands in a position it cannot belong in turns red immediately, so a wrong path is visible within a letter or two rather than at the end. Undo takes back the last tile, Clear resets the row, and Give up reveals the answer if a word has genuinely gone.
Multi-word answers keep their word breaks, which matters more than it sounds — the letters of each word are shuffled separately, so a two-word phrase is two small puzzles rather than one impossible one. A streak counter tracks how many you have solved in a row and remembers your best run for the session.
